The Birth of Koperasi Pekerja CIMB Berhad (KOPCIMB).

The formation of the KOPCIMB was initially mooted by our in-house Executive Officers Union, way back in 1981 to look after the welfare of its members as well as to inculcate the savings habit.

A pro-tem Committee was formed to undertake the formation and registration with the monthly meeting expenses incurred were shared by the Board members. We became a legal entity on 10th October 1983 as Koperasi Pekerja United Asian Bank Berhad. It is worth mentioning that we were the first cooperative to be formed by staff of a Commercial Bank in Malaysia back then.

On 20th August 2007, we changed the name to Koperasi Pekerja CIMB Berhad (KOPCIMB) which was in line with the merger of BCBB and CIMB Bank Berhad. Our current membership and assets have quadrupled since inception in 1983.
